I was so disappointed when Santa Maria stopped making their taco seasoning, so I set about making my own! I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbps Chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of your favorite chilli flakes
- 1/4 tsp oregano
- 1/4 tsp Mexican oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 beef stock cube
- 1 tbsp tomato puree
- 50ml balsamic vinegar
- 200ml water
- 500g beef mince
- 1 carrot
- 1 pepper
- 1 onion
- Crispy tacos
- Sour cream
- Grated Cheese
- Salsa
Method:
- Dice onion, carrot and pepper. Fry for a few minutes until soft and brown
- Brown mince
- Add vegetables, spice and liquids to the pan, cover and cook for 20 minutes. Remove lid towards the end to thicken sauce
- Serve in crispy tacos with salad, sour creme, cheese and salsa
